Areas and Localities: The tour takes place on the central area of the Island, starting on the southern coast on the locality of Lugar de Baixo and continues following Ribeira Brava Valley up to Serra de Água and the central mountains. After the summit is reached we continue our tour descending São Vicente valley to the north coast, midst of the luxurious laurel forest.
Target Birds: Madeiran firecrest, Laurel pigeon, Madeiran Chaffinch, Madeiran blackcap, Macaronesian Kestrel, Madeiran Buzzard, Madeiran Blackbird, Plain Swift, Greenfinch, Yellow-legged Seagull, Madeiran wagtail, Little egret, Grey Heron, Sandpipers, Coot, Common moorhen.
Observation Spots: : Four spots with easy and accessible short walks. One coastal spot, one Mountain, one laurel forest and one mixed farmland/rural.
